One customer said his iPhone 7 caught in iTunes Error 4013 and required to be fixed. Before repairing, press the power button to turn on iPhone, the phone stuck in iTunes recovery mode, can not access the system. Next, connect it to the computer and recover through iTunes, the error 4013 occurs during the recovery process. The phone boots again. Fault Analysis iTunes Error 4013 of iPhone 7 usually caused by pseudo soldering or damaged CPU. The error may be related to the power supply of the baseband PMU or NAND flash. Since CPU repair is very difficult, so we can check the power of the baseband PMU and NAND flash at first. Connect the iPhone to the DPS DC power supply   and measure the voltage of the baseband PMU C5623 and C5631. The result shows that the values of C5623 and C5631 are normal. So we judged that the power supply of the baseband PMU is normal too. Fault Repair Let's pay attention to the NAND flash power supply, remove the black adhesi

FIXD: iPhone 6S doesn't boot after dropped

Image
An iPhone 6S doesn't boot after dropped, it has no response when we press the iPhone power button, we need to fix it. Carefully disassemble the iPhone 6S, remove the iPhone display assembly, disconnect the iPhone battery, and then take out the iPhone motherboard. Connect iPhone motherboard to DC power supply , there is no current. The iPhone motherboard doesn’t have an obvious short-circuit phenomenon.  Short connect boot pin, and then turn it on, the current tested is larger than normal, which means that a voltage in the boot circuit is short-circuited. Use digital multimeter to measure the diode data of main power supply for each circuit on the iPhone motherboard, we found the diode data of PP_CPU voltage is smaller than normal value.  Because there are many components are connected to the PP_CPU, so we are going to use rosin method to find out the short circuit part.   Put iPhone under the Stereo Zoom Microscope, apply rosin to the soldering iron tip, a

Repair iPhone X won't turn on Problem

Image
The customer send us an iPhone X to repair, the fault described is that the iPhone is not turning on after dropping, and it reports error 56 after restoring.  The iPhone X is connected by 2 pieces motherboard via a middle column, so the pins are easy to lose because of dropping. Now, it's possibly the pin from the NFC chip to the iPhone CPU that was dropped off. Disassemble the iPhone X, take out the iPhone motherboard. Use QUICK 861DW hot air rework station to separate the iPhone X motherboard, and then we saw that there are some pin was dropped off. Pic 1 Check iPhone schematic diagram via WUXINJI Dongle , it's surrounded by ground lines, and the 6 useful pins was dropped off. The ground lines are no need to fill, we just need to fill these 6 useful pins, we can check it under the Stereo Zoom Microscope. These all are the signal line of the NFC chip, so when we restore iPhone by iTunes, it reports unknown error 56. Pic 2 Next we need to plant

GUIDE: How to Fix iPhone 8 No Boot Fault?

Image
We received an iPhone 8 from the customer. He said that his iphone suddenly couldn't be turned on. We connected the iphone 8 to the DC Power supply and found that the current is 250mA when the iphone 8 is powered on, then goes back to 0 and continues to cycle. Based on past repair experience, we judged that it is related to the USB charging part. The way to disassemble iphone 8 is similar to the 7th generation. Using the HYT 888D ESD digital desoldering station to disassemble the motherboard, we found that the counterparts have soldered the charging part, while the 8th generation U2 (6300) is still located at the bottom right of the NAND flash, which is not common with previous models.  Picture 1 Picture2 Remove the U2 with desoldering tool, and use Fluke digital multimeter  to measure the pad resistance, there is no any abnormality. when the machine powered-on, the current is also normal without U2. Replace the new iphone U2 chip and test machine, we f

If you are using a high-end smartphone like an iPhone, you will hardly experience any issue like no sound during a call on iPhone. In case, you face such a problem, here are a few solutions you can try before you go to Apple Store. One of my customers sought me for help. This is a second repair machine, the customer described the problem is that his phone has no sound. When we turns on the ringtone option on the phone, it will be stuck. Turning on the recorder, recording item can be clicked, but no any sound can be recorded. Facing up to the case, the possibility of a small audio failure is greater. Romoving the iphone motherboard , we obeserved that  the large audio and the small audio have been replaced. As the case revealed, the culprit possibility of the chip itself is very small. Removing the small audio by iphone opening pry tool, and testing the small pad ground value of the pad, finding that the small audio F6 foot resistance is infinite (normally around 400)

Repair iPhone 6 won't turn and no backlight failures

Image
We received an iPhone 6 from our customer, the fault description is that the iPhone 6 won't turn on. Disassemble the iPhone to observe it, we found that the top right corner screw column of the iPhone CPU is missing, the iPhone motherboard has been dug and welded jumper wire. Pic 1 First connect iPhone motherboard to the DPS DC power supply to check the current condition, we found that the iPhone current was above 200mA, then dropped and stayed around 150mA. According to the iPhone boot current working process, we analyze that the iPhone isn't turned on when the current was above 200mA, this failure is usually caused by iPhone display and backlight circuit. Use digital multimeter to measure the grounding resistance value of the display and backlight circuit. Pic 2 The resistance value measured is normal, so we replace the iPhone display IC, but the problem still the same after replacement. Now, we need to replace the iPhone backlight IC, after replacement, w
