SOLVED:iPhone 8 Plus Won't Turn On Issue

A customer sent an iPhone 8 Plus to us for repairing, the fault described is that the iPhone 8P won't turn on.

Use phone opening tools to disassemble the iPhone, we found the iPhone motherboard is already badly deformed. Because the customer need retain the data, so we have to repair the iPhone boot failure, and then we can back up the data.

Connect iPhone motherboard to the DC power supply, it leaks 280mA. For the badly dropped damaged iPhone, we need to check iPhone motherboard to see if there are visible signs of damage to its appearance.

Put iPhone motherboard under the Stereo Zoom Microscope to observe, we found the U3700 camera power supply IC is cracked, use tweezers to remove this IC first. Picture 1

After remove this U3700 IC, connect iPhone motherboard to the DC power supply again to check if it causes leakage problem. No leakage phenomenon when it is connected, next we need to power on it to check. Picture 2

After power on iPhone, the current jumps from 3400, which is abnormal, there is short circuit place. Picture 3

For this current error, usually we need to measure it by digital multimeter. Measure more than 10 power supply circuits from power output to see if there is a short-circuit place. Picture 4

We found the short circuit place when measured C2906 this capacitor, remove the connected capacitance, here are 2 capacitance are overheated, we need to remove them too. Now, measure it again, the data is normal. Next press the iPhone power button, now the iPhone can go into the system.

Back up the data, the repairs end!
