FIXD: iPhone 6S No Display Error

Recently, we received an iPhone 6S to repair, the faulty described is that the iPhone 6S doesn't display after booting. This iPhone 6S accidently fell into water, but the owner take it out quickly, and seems the iPhone has not received much damage, because the iPhone 6S still can be turned on, just no display. Now, we are going to repair it.

After received the iPhone 6S, first we need to test it. Press the iPhone power button, the iPhone screen keeps black, we try to use another iPhone to call it, it works, the iPhone 6S has response, but the iPhone LCD screen still no display.

Disassemble the iPhone, connect the iPhone to the DC power supply to test the iPhone boot current, the current data tested is normal, which means the iPhone can be turned on smoothly. Now, we confirm the failure is that the iPhone doesn’t display.

Take out the iPhone motherboard, observe it under the Stereo Zoom Microscope, there are small trace of water on the iPhone motherboard. Carefully clean it up, and then continue to observe.

Observing the iPhone display socket and those inductance resistances around it, we found the FL4220 is virtual welding. We can open the WUXINJI Dongle to find the FL4220 place in the iPhone schematic diagram. Picture 1

Now, use tweezers to remove the FL4220, and the use QUICK 861DW hot air rework station to short connect it.  Check if the surrounding inductor also has a virtual weld, if yes, we can short connect it by jump wire. After observation, there is no other inductors has a virtual weld. Picture 2

Install the iPhone and test it, now the iPhone LCD screen displays normally, the repairs end!
