Question 1: My battery dies quickly

Under Battery Usage, you can peruse a list of your apps and see how much battery each has consumed in the past 24 hours or seven days. If you can live without a battery-hungry app, then delete it. Finally, close the background open unused apps.

Question 2: My iPhone gets overheat while charging

The iPhone overheating is a common problem. If your iPhone gets hot while charging then it can cause some serious damage to its battery. So, you can remove your iPhone from charging and let it cool down. Turn it off or restart. On the other hand, when you open the hotspot or network, it consumes a lot of battery and produce an evident amount of heat.
