iPhone 6 WIFI cannot be used - DIY FIX

When your iPhone WIFI cannot be used, i think you're going to freak out. In modern life, WIFI is all over the place. When you walk down the street, shopping malls, or other places, you can use your iPhone to connect WiFi to surfing. WiFi is very helpful and convenient for us. But, here is a case. The iPhone 6 WIFI cannot be turned on, which means you can use the WIFI. Now, we are going to DIY fix it with professional phone repair tools.

First, get into IOS to test it, the Wi-Fi MAC address can be found in “about iPhone", just the WIFI button is greyed out.

Second, disassemble the iPhone by phone opening tools, then use Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter to measure the diode date iPhone Wi-Fi IC and PCIE bus. In this part, we need to know the test point of PCIE bus is on the coupling capacitance that is on the right of U1501. We directly measure the ends of the capacitor, the normal diode data is about 350 on one end and 500 on the other end.

Third, after measuring, the diode data of these 6 capacitors all is normal. Now we directly remove the iPhone WIFI IC, and then measure the diode data of each pin of solder pad, all is normal. We decided replace the new WIFI chip to test it. After replacing, the problem still exists. In this time, we can judge that it is caused by unqualified Wi-Fi working condition.

Fourth, open the WUXINJI Dongle to check the iPhone circuit diagram, we found that we forgot to measure the voltage of WIFI clock. Remove the WIFI and test the clock, there is not 0.9V voltage. The frequency of the Wi-Fi clock is 32.768kHz, which is made by the Y1200 crystal oscillator. Then Y1200 crystal oscillator transmits it to power chip. Power chip transmits it to Wi-Fi chip. Considering the iPhone is dropped, the crystal oscillator may be broken because it is not anti-shock. Directly replace the new Y1200 crystal oscillator.

Finally, after replacing the new Y1200 crystal oscillator, assemble the iPhone and turn it on to test, now the WIFI button is back it normal, and it can be turned on smoothly. The WIFI signal also normal, you can use the WIFI again!

Tips: The iphone Wi-Fi chip cannot be removed when the diode data of PCIE bus is being tested. Otherwise, the diode data to Wi-Fi can be infinite. The circuits between Wi-Fi solder pad and the 6 capacitances often disconnect. So we can directly measure the ends of the capacitor.
