Detailed Solution:

As we know, unlike previous iPhone, the iPhone 8 hardware detection is built into the booting process. Once the Touch ID fails, the iPhone will stuck on Apple logo and won't boot. The biggest effect is that you can't continue using your iPhone. Now, let's DIY fix it step by step.

Step 1. Press the iPhone 8 power button to test it, the iPhone 8 is actually stuck on Apple logo, and won't move on. Using Apple data cable to connect iPhone and PC, use iTunes to restore it, and then insert the SIM card to activate the iPhone. The iPhone home button does not respond to the return function and the iPhone cannot be fully activated.

Step 2. Disassemble the iPhone with phone opening tools, remove the iPhone battery and then unload the iPhone display assembly. Measuring the power voltage of home button with multimeter, all three sets of voltage values are normal. Keep checking the 3D flexible cable of the display assembly, it is fine.

Step 3. Remove the iPhone home button to check whether the home button flex cable is damaged, the result is the home button flexible cable is normal. Because the home button is connected to the iPhone logical board through a flexible cable on the display assembly, so we decided to replace the new display assembly to confirm the faulty position.



Step 4. After finish the above step, power on iPhone to test it, the iPhone 8 is still stuck in the Apple logo and failed to boot. Now, we're judging the wrong place is at home button.

Step 5. Disassemble the iPhone display assembly again, remove the iPhone motherboard, and then measure the resistance between J5800 pins and grounding with multimeter, the data shows normal. Observing J5800 under a VGA Camera 7-45X Trinocular Stereo Microscope, we found a significant repair mark, so we're going to replace the new connector J5800.

Step 6. Fix the iPhone motherboard with MJ 9 IN 1 A21 IPhone Motherboard Test Fixture, and stick connectors next to J5800 with high temperature adhesive tape to protect it. Apply some BGA paste flux to the bonding pad and then take out the J5800 with QUICK 861DW. By the way, please use solder iron to solder tins, it can help you a lot on the following welding.

Step 7. Welding the new connectors J5800, When the motherboard is cooled, install the motherboard and connect the battery, Assemble the iPhone and press the iPhone power button to turn it on, The iPhone can access to activation interface normally and the Home Button gets responsive with returning function, but the touch ID not working now. Resume the iPhone with iTunes, after finish that, boot the iPhone again, now the touch ID can work successfully.
