SOLVED: RF IC causes iPhone 6 no service after water damaged

we are going to tell you how to diy fix the iPhone 6 has no service after water damaged. The cause of the matter is that this iPhone 6 accidentally dropped into water, we quickly picked it up and blew the water out of the phone. But seems it doesn't work, because when we insert the SIM card, the iPhone still shows no service. You can't make calls or send messages normally on this iPhone, but never mind; we can diy fix it with phone repair tools.

First of all, insert the SIM card to the SIM card tray, press the iPhone power button to test it, after enter the IOS, we can see the iPhone is no service. Go to settings, we can see operator options but no service. That the operator options shows suggests trouble does not in signal reception circuit but in signal emission circuit.

Second, disassemble the iPhone by phone opening tools, we found water corrosion on the iPhone motherboard. Now we need to clean the corroded places and test the power supply of each chip by multemiter, we found the power supply diode data of 2G amplifier chip is infinite.

Third, put WUXINJI Dongle connect to computer and then runs it, checking the iPhone circuit diagram, we found the power starts from PP_VCC_MAIN and then pass insurance resistance R4501_RF to 2G amplifiers at last, as shown in following picture.

The location of resistance R4501_RF in PCB bitmap is shown in following picture

We replace the R4501_RF, turn the iPhone and test it, however, the failure is still the same. Now we can only to solder the fake jumper wire to judge exactly where is the damage. Use QUICK 861DW Hot Air Rework Station to solder the 10cm enameled wire, which starts from the 2G emission chip of RF chip.

After completing the welding jump wire, turn on iPhone and test it, the iPhone still no service. Now we can judge that the RF chip is damaged. Finally, we replace the iphone 6 RF IC, install the iPhone 6 and turn on it to test; the iPhone 6 is already on the service. The iPhone 6 can make the phone calls and messages now!
